Topic: The Use of the Period ( Full Stop)
The Period (Full Stop) is used in several places.
1. The Period is used to End Complete Sentence.
Example.
1. Don't pick rare flowers like the lotus and wild orchid.
2. Yaaya killed the snake.
2. Abbreviations, Initials.
The Period is used after Abbreviations and Initials.
Example.....
Dr. F. E. Smart
D. C.
A. M. (or a.m.)
NOTE: Do not use a period after per cent or after a Roman numeral within a sentence.
Example.
Our honour students have an average of 85 per cent or higher.
The policies of King George II led to the rebellion of 1642.
In the abbreviations of the names of many well - known organisations, periods are not required : FBI, CBS, ALF, CIO, TV A, CIA.

3. Places : school, church, hospital, park, zoo, mosque, kitchen, etc.
4. Things : pencil, eraser, chalk, book, desk, etc.
5. Festivals : Damba, Aboakyir, Akwambo, etc.

Examples
